Frequently Asked Questions

The House

What are you doing about Covid-19?

Social distancing measures and a one-way system are in place through the guest house, along with a hand sanitising station.

Breakfast is presently a table service rather than the usual buffet, but a full menu continues.  Alternatively, we are more than happy to bring breakfast to your room; please provide us with your selection and time choice before you retire to bed.

Our linens are washed to national laundry thermal disinfection standards, including the addition of BioMaster silver technology.

Housekeeping follow an extensive deep clean protocol before and after every stay; for this reason, we kindly ask your cooperation in a prompt check-out and that we may not be able to provide early access to your room if you should arrive early.

Please be reassured that the team have a number of years of professional training and experience in infection control.

Please do note that while we are acutely aware of food allergies and apply strict practices in our kitchen to reduce the risk of cross-contamination of food allergens, we cannot guarantee that any of our food is ‘free-from’.

Do you have off road parking?

Yes, we have ample parking around the sides and front of the house.

Do you permit dogs in the guest house?

No, everything is provided in the cost of your stay.  All our linens are of hotel quality and washed to national standards for laundry cleanliness.  There are even tea towels and oven gloves.

Is there a washing machine?

Yes, we have installed a washer/dryer along with providing a clothes airer. So, should you be caught in the Lakes rain there’s no problem getting clean and dry.

We even provide you with a small supply of non-biological washing powder and ironing facilities.

Can you provide cots and highchairs?

Yes, we certainly can. Just let us know your needs when you book and the age of your little one so we can make sure all the right equipment is in place for your stay.

Please use the fireguard provided at all times, if you plan to use the logburner, and never leave your child unattended while it is operating or cooling down.

Does the cottage have its own garden?

The cottage garden overlooks the pastures towards the villages of Boltongate and Mealsgate and is an ideal spot to watch the sunset.

Please be mindful that in this lovely rural landscape you may encounter livestock with their young.
