A former Victorian rectory, offering licensed bed and breakfast accommodation with many original features and modern comforts, in individually styled rooms. Our accompanying converted stable block offers a self-contained cottage for those seeking a self-catering option.


Seated in just under an acre of grounds it affords stunning views over the northern fells of Cumbria towards Skiddaw, Binsey and the pastures of Caldbeck and Boltongate. Our restaurant, lounge, bar and gardens are open to non-residents too; please see our Dine page for more details.

We do dining differently🍽 How so you say? We don't have a menu, dining is by reservation only. We're committed to greener tourism, so we aim to avoid food waste, keeping food miles low with seasonal ingredients and local producers. Tell us what you don't like or can't eat and we'll create a 3 course meal (or more if you wish!) just for you. Now, dessert is always difficult, we find it hard to choose. So when faced with indecision in the pudding department, we often find it better to go with three!
